Everything about Cimmyt totally explained

The International Maize and Wheat Improvement Center – better known by its Spanish-language acronym CIMMYT, from Centro Internacional de Mejoramiento de Maíz y Trigo – is a Mexico-based non-profit research institute dedicated to the development of improved varieties of wheat and maize.
Its main agricultural testing facilities and administrative headquarters are located at El Batán near Texcoco in México state, some 25 km east of Mexico City.
One of its researchers, Norman Borlaug, won the Nobel Peace Prize in 1970 based on his work with the institute, the only Nobel Peace Prize awarded for contributions to agriculture.
CIMMYT is one of the 15 specialized research centers of the Consultative Group on International Agricultural Research (CGIAR).
